Thank you for your interest in participating in the Probasi of Charlotte Durga Puja 2026 Saturday Evening Cultural Program. Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your performance request.

General Guidelines:

• Each performance is limited to 4 minutes.

• Each performer may participate in only one performance during the Saturday Evening Cultural Program - either one solo performance or one group performance.

• Performance requests must be be submitted by Sunday, August 16, 2026.

• Due to limited program time, performance requests will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

• The Probasi Cultural Committee will review all submissions and notify selected participants via email prior to the event.

• The Probasi Cultural Committee reserves the right to review all entries and make the final decision regarding performance selection and scheduling.

 

Solo Performances:

• Solo performances are limited and are available only to current Probasi members.

• Solo performers must:

  • Be 12 years of age or older.

  • Be a current Probasi member.

  • Be registered for the Durga Puja 2026 event.

  • Anyone interested in performing a solo must:

    • Contact the Cultural Committee directly.

    • Submit the completed Performance Registration Form with the performance details.

• ​The Cultural Committee reserves the right to review all solo performance requests and make the final selection.

Group Performances:

• ​At least one participant in every group must be a current Probasi member and be registered for the Durga Puja 2026 event.

• Non-members may participate only as part of a group that includes Probasi members.

• Groups that include non-member participants must meet the following minimum Probasi membership requirements:
  2–4 participants: Minimum 1 Probasi member
  5–6 participants: Minimum 2 Probasi members
  7–8 participants: Minimum 3 Probasi members
  9–10 participants: Minimum 4 Probasi members

• Participants 11 years of age and under may perform only in group performances.

• Participants 12 years of age and older may perform either as a soloist or in a group. However, group performances are strongly encouraged to maximize participation.

• Non-Member Cultural Participation Fee:
  All non-member participants are required to pay a $15 Non-Member Cultural Participation Registration Fee to participate in the Durga Puja 2026 Cultural Program.

• The group leader, teacher, choreographer, or organizer is responsible for collecting the registration fee from all non-member participants and completing the registration process on their behalf.

Performance Categories:

Performances in all genres and languages are welcome, including but not limited to:

• Classical

• Semi-Classical

• Folk

• Bollywood

• Bengali (all genres)

• Performances in any other language

Teacher/Mentor Performance Limit:

To ensure fair representation and provide opportunities for a wider range of participants, the Cultural Committee reserves the right to limit the number of performances submitted by any one teacher, mentor, choreographer, or organizer if the total number of entries exceeds the available program time. In such cases, a teacher, mentor, choreographer, or organizer with more than two performance entries may be asked to limit participation to a maximum of two performances.
