Advancement for health and Education among Adivasis

Probasi of Charlotte is proud that one of our former members is making a real difference in the lives of hundreds of women and children in tribal areas in India. Project AHLA (Advancement for health and Education among Adivasis) aims to promote education and health among the tribal population in Bankura district, West Bengal, India.

Since 2021, the project has made significant progress in areas of women's health and children's education in four tribal villages. A school created by this organization provides pre-school education for the age group 3–5-year-olds as well as an after-school program for 6–8-year-olds.  They started from an open air and temporary shelter but were successful in building a beautiful traditional mud-framed School by December 2023. They have introduced art, sports, and value-based education to promote physical health and well-being, social skills, teamwork, self-confidence and self-expression, all of which in turn will improve academic performance. They also focus on preserving cultural heritage by integrating tribal heritage into the learning process as well as teaching Santhali as a language to promote a strong sense of identity. Along with that the organization has ignited a strong movement for health and healthy lifestyle among the villagers, especially among tribal women, who hold the key for the health of their family members.

We encourage our Probasi family to get involved in this nobel initiative. One way would be to contribute to their latest initiative which is construction of a building for 'Training and Production center'. This building is envisioned as the center for empowerment of tribal women. Donations ( which are tax deductible) can be made through https://gofund.me/aaa581c0
