Minutes Of The Meetings

As you would know, we had our Annual General Meeting on 4/15/2006 at the Rea Road Public Library. The following items were discussed and agreed upon by the members, present.

• Financial Situation of Probasi and Budget: 2005 Closing Balance of Probasi is approx. $2000
• E-mail will be the primary mode of all further communication: All Probasi events and general updates will be shared via e-mail to the mail id's which we currently have on file. If you either need to add or update your email address, please let us know, so that we can update our records accordingly.
• For the Calendar Year 2006-07, we agreed to have the following 6 events:

1. Sanskriti Sandhya - evening of May the 20th, at the Smithfield Elementary School auditorium
2. Annual Picnic
3. Durga Puja Celebrations
4. Lakshmi Puja
5. Vijaya Get Together & Probasi Kids Day (Single Event)
6. Saraswati Puja

The Date, Time and Venue of the other events will be shared with all of  you as soon as we have confirmation regarding them.

Once again, we will be having our first event of this year, Sanskriti Sandhya on May the 20th, in Smithfield Elementary School. And, once again, requesting active participation from all Probasi members to make this event a memorable and enjoyable one.

Following is what we have planned as Contribution for each of the events:

Probabsi Annual Membership Fee: $20 for ALL Probabsi members

Note: We are in the process of compiling a Probasi Inventory List.
Would appreciate if each of you would let us know the various items you
have with you, so that we can update our records. This consolidated list will act as our starting inventory. Also, would also appreciate if you could let us know of any specific items that we may need to procure for our Cultural Programs (e.g. Sound System, Adapters), Pujas, etc. so we can plan accordingly.

Also, as you would know we are working on acquiring a Non-Profit Tax
Exempt Status for Probasi. IRS requires us to highlight things that we
have done / plan on doing for the welfare of the community, e.g.
Charitable Contributions, etc. Accordingly, would request ALL Probasi Members to please donate $2 per family for the same. This would help us strengthen our claim to the IRS for a Non-Profit Tax Exempt Status for Probasi. If you would please oblige.
